Job Description:

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is 3 days over 7, 8:30 - 4:30. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.)

The Community Rehabilitation Service provides specialist rehabilitation across East Renfrewshire HSCP. The multi-disciplinary team consists of physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, frailty practitioner, speech and language, nursing, and rehabilitation support worker intervention. The Service operates over two geographic teams in Eastwood and Barrhead localities, and provides supported discharge from Acute settings and coordinated assessment and treatment within an individual’s own home (or other appropriate community or workplace setting) for community referrals to maximise health gain and independence. Clinicians work as part of a flexible and responsive team which aims to provide a single point of access to assessment of need followed by time-limited and appropriate rehabilitation. Close collaboration exists with service users, carers, primary and secondary healthcare, social work services and the voluntary sector.

Qualifications: Applicants should have a degree or diploma in occupational therapy and be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Extensive post-graduate rotational experience is required. Proven clinical expertise in the treatment of care of the elderly, neurological conditions, orthopaedics and more is essential.
