Job summary

NHS Professionals Limited is recruiting Bank Community Psychiatric Nurses in Worcester to deliver mental health support within community settings. The role offers flexible shifts, enabling you to tailor your schedule to personal commitments and maintain a healthy work-life balance.

Band 6 level with pay from £23.82 to £38.11 per hour under the Agenda for Change, with current UK NHS guidelines. Applicants must have UK registration and relevant community nursing experience.

Qualifications

• NMC registration and mental health nursing qualification required.
• Minimum 6 months paid experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in the last 3 years.
• Current UK professional registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients by telephone or face-to-face who present with mental health difficulties.
• Identify appropriate care pathways and ensure the least restrictive option.
• Signpost to primary and tertiary care services.
• Raise concerns to senior staff as needed.
• Document and plan care for patients.
• Present cases to the Multi-Disciplinary Team for care pathway discussion.
• Liaise with nursing, occupational therapy, medics, psychology and admin teams.

Main duties of the job

• Providing robust assessment of patients (by telephone or face-to-face) who have been referred due to presenting with mental health difficulties.
• Identifying appropriate care pathways and ensuring the least restrictive option to meet the needs of the patient and ensuring their wellbeing.
• Signposting to appropriate care providers (including primary and tertiary care).
• Raising concerns to senior staff for support and management.
• Completing documentation and planning care for patients.
• Presenting cases to Multi-Disciplinary Team for discussion around care pathway.
• Liaison with colleagues nursing, occupational therapy, medics, psychology and admin.

Essential Qualifications

• Statement of NMC Registration Degree /Diploma in Mental Health Nursing

Essential Experience

• A minimum of 6 months paid experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse in an UK hospital environment within the last 3 years
