Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) or Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) in the UK.
  • Active NMC registration and enhanced DBS check required.

As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will support patients outside of the hospital environment, providing individualized care and practical advice. You will work as part of a dedicated team aiming to make a positive impact in people's lives by helping them overcome various challenges.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Supporting patients with mental health conditions through recovery and support activities
  2. Educating the local community on mental health issues
  3. Understanding mental health signs and symptoms; supporting and mentoring junior staff in developing their knowledge
  4. Recognizing and responding appropriately to challenging behavior according to Trust policies and training
  5. Having in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards
  6. Communicating effectively with patients, carers, families, and friends with accurate information
  7. Collaborating with other professionals when necessary
Requirements:
  • A relevant degree
  • At least 2 years of experience as a CPN or RMN in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months; on the update service? You may be fast-tracked through our recruitment process
  • Willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held
  • Active NMC registration
