If you are interested in becoming a lead healthcare professional focused on promoting recovery for individuals diagnosed with severe and enduring mental ill health, this role is ideal. We provide comprehensive multidisciplinary services and work closely with local specialist mental health teams, tertiary service providers, primary care, statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users, and carers.

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic mental health nurse with a strong sense of initiative and excellent teamwork skills.

You will be based at Canterbury CMHT but may be required to travel to our other sites at Herne Bay and Ashford.

The post holder must hold a full, valid UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle for business purposes, unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010.

Main Duties of the Job

A Community Mental Health Nurse is a key member of the multidisciplinary care team, responsible for assessing, planning, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating care. You will communicate findings, influence and drive change, and promote health, best practices, patient safety, and experience. The Mental Health Nurse will be professionally accountable to the Executive Director of Nursing and operationally accountable to the Matron/Clinical Service Manager.

Effective communication skills and self-governance are essential. You should demonstrate knowledge of high-level interventions and community assessment skills. Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undertake training related to the post are expected.
