Job description

If you are committed to delivering high-quality integrated health and social care, then this could be the role for you. As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will visit patients outside of the hospital environment, providing individualized practical advice and support to help them overcome their problems. Although this role can be challenging at times, it is also highly rewarding as you make a positive difference in someone's life.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  1. Supporting a range of patients with mental health conditions through recovery and support activities.
  2. Educating the local community on mental health issues.
  3. Demonstrating an understanding of mental health signs and symptoms, and supporting and teaching junior staff to develop their understanding.
  4. Recognizing and responding appropriately to challenging behavior, in line with Trust policies and training.
  5. Having in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards.
  6. Contributing to effective communication with patients, carers, family, and friends by providing accurate information.
Requirements:
  1. A relevant degree.
  2. At least 2 years of experience working as a CPN/RMN in the UK.
  3. Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months; on the update service to potentially fast-track your application.
  4. Active NMC registration.
  5. A full UK driving license and access to your own vehicle.
