Community Psychiatric Nurse (Band 6) – Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team – Cambridge

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a Band 6 Community Psychiatric Nurse (CPN) to join the Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) Team within the NHS in Cambridge. This is a full-time, temporary agency contract, working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

  • Pay Rate: £27.00 Ltd (Umbrella) (£21.71 Paye) per hour

  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm

Role Overview:
The successful candidate will work within a community setting as part of an Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) service. You will manage a caseload of service users, providing assessment, care planning, and intervention for individuals experiencing a first episode of psychosis or at high risk of developing psychosis. The role also involves supporting the Duty system within the team.

The post holder must have a strong understanding of psychosis and the ethos of early intervention, as well as experience working with a variety of mental health conditions in a community setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of service users within the EIP service, delivering person-centred care.

  • Provide timely and appropriate mental health assessments, care plans, and interventions.

  • Support the team’s Duty rota, responding to urgent needs and crises as required.

  • Promote recovery-focused approaches, empowering service users and their families.

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team and external agencies.

  • Record and maintain high-quality clinical documentation in line with NHS policies and procedures.

  • Identify and manage risk appropriately, updating risk assessments regularly.

  • Ensure practice is in line with relevant legislation, guidelines, and Trust policies.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.

  • Experience working with individuals with psychosis in a community mental health setting.

  • Knowledge and understanding of Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) principles and practice.

  • Strong communication, assessment, and care planning skills.

  • Enhanced DBS clearance (issued within the last 12 months or registered with the Update Service).
