Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience as a Community Psychiatric Nurse or Registered Mental Nurse in the UK.
  • In-depth knowledge of Mental Health Act and related legislation.

As a Community Psychiatric Nurse, you will be visiting patients outside of the hospital environment, providing individualised practical advice and support to help them improve their lives.

Key Responsibilities include, but aren’t limited to:
  • Supporting patients with mental health conditions through recovery and support activities
  • Educating the local community on mental health issues
  • Understanding mental health signs and symptoms, and supporting and teaching junior staff to develop their understanding
  • Recognising and responding to challenging behaviour according to Trust policies and training
  • Having in-depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Deprivation of Liberty safeguards
  • Communicating effectively with patients, carers, families, and friends, providing accurate information
Requirements:
  • Relevant degree
  • Minimum 1+ years of experience as a CPN/RMN in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS check within the last 12 months (preferably on the update service for fast-tracking)
  • Active NMC registration
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle
