Job description
Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Practitioner to join our expanding Community Eating Disorders Service in the Specialist Children and Young Peoples CBU (CYP CEDS). The service provides specialist assessment and community treatment for individuals and their families who are experiencing an eating disorder across Sunderland, South Tyneside, Gateshead, Newcastle, Northumberland and North Tyneside. The post holder may need to drive to various satellite bases. The service is committed to working with families, children and young people to support recovery using evidence-based practice: Family Based Treatment (FBT) alongside monitoring of physical health wellbeing.

This is a full time, band 6 post. You will be a First Level Registered Nurse - RMN/RNMH/RNLD qualification and have a minimum of 24 months post-qualification experience, preferably within the field of Eating Disorders.

Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist assessment and community treatment within the CYP Eating Disorders Service.
  • Work with families, children and young people to support recovery using Family Based Treatment (FBT) and monitor physical health wellbeing.
  • Travelling across satellite bases and sites as required, with flexible working to meet service needs.
  • Work as part of a skilled integrated multi-disciplinary team and contribute to collaborative patient care.
  • Demonstrate strong decision making, effective communication and the ability to work well under pressure.

Team, Environment and Development

Join a skilled integrated multi-disciplinary team working with children, young people and families. The service offers learning and training opportunities, clinical supervision and a supportive, collaborative team culture. The post is currently based within our South of Tyne team at Monkwearmouth Hospital and is merging with our North of Tyne team to be based at Benton House later in the year to strengthen patient offer and workforce provision.
