Job summary

Sussex Police is seeking dedicated Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to join the Brighton & Hove Division. In this crucial role, you will engage with communities, ensuring safety and support while addressing various local issues.

Ideal candidates will possess excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to making a difference. Positions come with a competitive salary starting at £28,914, plus allowances and the opportunity for a fully-funded Level 4 Diploma in Community Policing Practice.

Qualifications

• Must be aged 18 or older before appointment.
• Must have lived in the UK for three continuous years.
• Must provide evidence of eligibility to remain and work in the UK.
• Tattoos must not cause offence.
• Not a member of the British National Party or similar organizations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct highly visible foot patrols.
• Reassure the public after minor crimes.
• Build relationships with community leaders.
• Work with young people in local schools.
• Make house visits for intelligence gathering.
• Collect CCTV evidence.
• Carry out missing person enquiries.
• Protect crime scenes.
• Provide crime prevention advice.
• Support public gatherings.
