Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting for a coordinator within the Community Payback framework in Yorkshire and the Humber Probation Service. This permanent, part-time role focuses on securing unpaid work placements that meet Community Payback standards and building strong links with councils, charities and partners to support sentence delivery.

The post includes weekend cover and site visits, with higher rates paid for weekend work.

Qualifications

• Evidence of the Civil Service Behaviours Delivering at Pace and Working Together in the application form
• Evidence of Communicating and Influencing and Developing Self and Others at interview
• Evidence of relevant experience in the application form

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain relationships with partner organisations, customers and stakeholders, including voluntary and statutory bodies
• Ensure enough work placements meeting Community Payback quality standards are available so court sentences can be carried out effectively
• Support the CP Manager so that all Community Payback placements meet organisational policy objectives and comply with relevant legislation
• Work with local authorities and charities to secure sufficient Community Payback work placements
• Explore on-the-job training and education opportunities for people on probation to build their skills and employment prospects while they complete unpaid work hours
• Visit project sites, including schools not accessible on weekdays, to complete risk assessments and meet beneficiaries
• Work weekends when needed to cover for Community Payback supervisors
• Undertake weekend working as part of the normal working pattern
