Job description

We have an exciting Band 6 Physiotherapy opportunity within our integrated services teams working in Berkshire East, across Maidenhead. We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and innovative candidate for a fixed-term contract of up to 1 year.

To be suitable for this post, you should have sound experience working as a Physiotherapist at Band 5 level, with expertise in the rehabilitation of older adults. A good understanding of how community, primary, and secondary care services, Local Authorities, and voluntary services collaborate is essential.

The role involves managing a clinical caseload of general community referrals, including seeing patients in their own homes. Exposure to neurological patients can be arranged. Additionally, you will support physiotherapy activities within the Assessment and Rehabilitation Centre and Reablement services, working closely with the wider Community Physiotherapy team across East Berkshire.

You should be able to work independently and as part of a team, supporting the overall East Community Physiotherapy service alongside other community service leads and the Integrated Service manager. Excellent interpersonal skills are required, and you will have opportunities to contribute to service improvements, development, and the QMIS (Quality Improvement Management System) process.

We offer comprehensive in-service training, clinical development, and peer support. There are opportunities to pursue MSc/Independent Prescribing qualifications, with funding available for external courses and in-house training. Staff receive annual appraisals to support their development.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Effectively managing a caseload of Community Physiotherapy Patients.
  2. Delegating ongoing rehabilitation plans appropriately to support workforce.
  3. Supervising and supporting junior and support staff.
  4. Contributing to service development and improvement initiatives.

Working pattern and service hours:

This is a full-time fixed-term position. The service operates Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00, with flexible hours depending on service needs. While face-to-face rehabilitation is primary, virtual working arrangements are available.
