Why You’ll Love It

We already know this team and there’s a reason we’ve previously described them as a bit of a community physio “Dream Team”.

This is one of those roles where you genuinely get to see the difference your work makes. You’re meeting patients in their own environment, helping someone regain their confidence after a hospital stay, reducing their risk of falling, getting them moving again or helping them maintain the independence that means so much to them.

You’ll be joining an established community team rather than being left to figure everything out alone, with experienced clinical leadership and colleagues around you who genuinely care about doing community rehabilitation properly.

If you love the autonomy of community physio but still want to feel very much part of a team, we think this one has a lot going for it.

All About You

This role needs someone who is already comfortable working autonomously within a community setting. You’ll be managing your own patients away from the clinic, so current or recent community physiotherapy experience is important.

You’ll need:

  • HCPC registration as a Physiotherapist

  • CSP membership

  • Minimum 2 years' post-graduate physiotherapy experience in the UK, within the NHS and/or private sector

  • Current or recent community physiotherapy experience

  • Experience managing your own clinical caseload

  • Experience working with adult patients across a range of conditions

  • Confidence working independently within patients' homes and community settings

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Full UK driving licence and access to your own car for work purposes

It would be great if you also have:

  • Private practice experience

  • Orthopaedic rehabilitation experience

  • Experience supporting or mentoring junior Physiotherapists or therapy assistants

Above all, you’ll be someone who enjoys working with people. You’ll need to be engaging, reassuring and able to build rapport with patients and their families while maintaining the confidence to make independent clinical decisions.

What Will You Be Doing?

You’ll manage a varied community physiotherapy caseload, supporting patients within their own homes, care homes and other community environments.

Your caseload may include older adults, people returning home following hospital admission or surgery, patients experiencing reduced mobility or deconditioning, those at risk of falls, and people living with longer-term conditions.

Day to day, you’ll:

  • Independently assess and manage your own community physiotherapy caseload

  • Develop personalised rehabilitation plans around each patient's needs, goals and home environment

  • Support mobility, strength, balance, confidence and functional independence

  • Provide rehabilitation following illness, surgery or hospital admission

  • Work with patients experiencing falls, reduced mobility and age-related deterioration

  • Deliver appropriate home-based exercise and rehabilitation programmes

  • Monitor progress and adapt treatment plans accordingly

  • Work collaboratively with patients, families, carers and other healthcare professionals

  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation and professional standards

  • Contribute to multidisciplinary care where required

  • Support and mentor junior team members and assistants where appropriate

Working Hours and Environment

The preference is for someone to join on a permanent full-time basis ideally, although part-time hours may be considered for a candidate with the right experience.

The clinic itself is based in Horley, Surrey, while the Community Physiotherapy Team supports patients across Horley, Crawley, Copthorne, Redhill, Reigate, Lingfield and surrounding areas.

As this is a genuine community role, you’ll spend much of your working time travelling between patients and delivering physiotherapy within their own homes or care environments. Mileage is paid, so you'll need a driving licence and access to your own vehicle.

Reaching Your Potential

Our client has built a well-established physiotherapy service with a particularly strong reputation for community rehabilitation.

The wider practice has developed considerably over the years, expanding its services across community physiotherapy, MSK rehabilitation, sports rehabilitation and physiotherapist-led exercise. You’ll therefore be joining a business that understands both hands-on clinical care and the importance of continuing to develop its services.

There are opportunities for ongoing training and CPD, alongside learning from experienced clinicians with backgrounds spanning community rehabilitation, the NHS and private practice.

For someone who wants to continue developing within community physiotherapy while becoming part of an established private healthcare team, there is plenty here to get involved with.

We actively promote diversity and equal opportunities.
