Community Phlebotomist

We have a part time vacancy in the Blandford D/N team for a community health care assistant with an interest in phlebotomy. You will require excellent communication and interpersonal skills when caring for patients in the community setting.

Employment in this post requires an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.

Applications from candidates that require current Skilled worker sponsorship to work in the UK are unfortunately ineligible to apply for this position.

Main duties of the job

Under direction of the team leader or deputy, undertake nursing care for patients in their own homes and other community settings and by working in partnership with patients, their carers and others, enable them to make informed choices. Main responsibilities are venepuncture, general observations and wound management.

To maintain a high standard of individualised patient care and to report any changes in condition or environment to the team leader or deputy.

To advise carers and/or patients how to manage care between visits and promote health education on a person-to-person basis as directed by the team leader.

Maintain/develop IT skills appropriate to role.

To undertake any other duties required within the service, following consultation with Line Manager.
