Job summary

St Gemma's Hospice in Leeds is seeking an Operational Team Leader to provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team.

You will coordinate referrals, caseloads, staffing, and performance, working with Senior Clinical Nurse Specialists and partners across the Leeds health system to deliver safe, person-centred care in patients' homes and community settings.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as an Adult Nurse required.
• Post-registration qualification in palliative or end-of-life care essential.
• Significant recent experience in palliative care, oncology or community nursing.
• Experience at Band 6 level or above (or equivalent) is required.
• Experience leading, managing and developing clinical staff.
• Experience of operational management within a clinical service.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle challenging conversations with sensitivity and professionalism.
• Valid full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.
• Experience of community-based service delivery is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead referral management and triage processes.
• Oversee caseload prioritisation and clinical demand.
