Job summary

St Gemma's Hospice seeks an Operational Team Leader to provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team in Leeds. You will coordinate referrals, caseloads, staffing and quality improvement while supporting Senior Clinical Nurse Specialists and promoting high standards of practice.

You will work across the hospice and wider health system to develop pathways, support workforce planning and create a positive, inclusive working environment.

Qualifications

• Current NMC registration as an Adult Nurse.
• Post-registration qualification in palliative or end of life care, or equivalent knowledge.
• Significant recent experience in palliative care or community nursing.
• Experience at Band 6 level or above (or equivalent).
• Experience leading, managing and developing clinical staff.
• Experience of operational management within a clinical service.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and operational oversight of the Community Specialist Palliative Care Team.
• Line management and professional support to Senior Clinical Nurse Specialists.
• Oversee referrals, triage, caseload oversight and capacity management.
• Coordinate staffing deployment and address service performance and quality improvement.
• Develop integrated pathways and support innovative approaches to patient care.
