Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is recruiting a Health Care Assistant to join the hospice community team that serves Hastings and Rother. The role focuses on home visits and telephone advice for patients and families, including support with loss, grief and dying.

Join the Specialist Palliative Care Telephone Support Line and work alongside clinicians to provide compassionate, patient-centred care at the end of life, in hospice or community settings. Transferable experience is welcome.

Qualifications

• Transferable skills are welcome; palliative care experience is useful but not required.
• Ability to communicate compassionately with patients, families and carers.

Responsibilities

• Work as a key member of the interdisciplinary team to meet the holistic needs of patients, families and carers.
• Support patients to fulfil their personal priorities and goals.
• Provide compassionate palliative care to patients at the end of life and those close to them, in the hospice or community.
• Make home visits to patients and families.
• Give telephone advice and support.
