Job summary

Dorset Council is seeking multiple Occupational Therapists to join the Community Paediatric team on a permanent, full-time basis. You will support children and young people aged 0–25 with developmental and physical conditions, delivering assessments, interventions, and equipment recommendations in home and school settings.

The role emphasises collaboration with families and schools, travel responsibilities, and compliance with HCPC standards.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with degree.
• Post-qualifying experience preferred for level 2/3 posts.
• Experience with children and young people in community/paediatric settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide assessment and intervention for children with functional difficulties in home settings, including equipment and adaptations.
• Carry out moving and handling assessments and create care plans.
• Perform moving and handling risk assessments and environmental assessments.
• Collaborate with families, schools, and professionals to develop therapy plans.
