Job summary

University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay is seeking a Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join the Rapid Response/Virtual Ward Team in Barrow-in-Furness. The role offers supervision, development and training opportunities within a supportive team.

You will contribute to community-based assessments and escalate care appropriately, supporting early discharge and preventing unnecessary hospital admissions.

Qualifications

• Evidence of occupational therapy assessment, observation, evaluation and reporting skills.
• Ability to deal with information sensitively, professionally and confidentially.
• Ability to work single handed with individuals/groups of patients with guidance from a B6/B7 OT colleague.
• Effective personal organisational skills.
• Understanding of team dynamics.
• Basic computer skills (word processing, email, internet).
• Written communication skills in English.
• Knowledge of current evidence-based practice in OT.
• Competent skills in risk assessment and risk management.
