Job summary

JustOT is seeking an experienced Band 6 Community Rehabilitation Occupational Therapist to join a team in Essex. You will manage a community caseload, develop detailed assessments and treatment plans, and support patients in the early stages of stroke rehabilitation.

Working within an MDT, you will apply current stroke guidelines, provide patient-centred care for complex needs, collaborate with families and professionals, and assess equipment to promote independence in daily life.

Qualifications

• Requires a Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience in NHS community settings is essential.
• Strong background in community rehabilitation, preferably with stroke patients.
• Excellent communication and MDT collaboration skills.

The Role:

• Support patients with new stroke diagnoses through community rehabilitation.
• Work as part of an MDT, applying current stroke rehabilitation guidelines.
• Provide patient-centred rehabilitation for complex functional needs.
• Work collaboratively with patients, families and wider professionals to achieve meaningful goals.
• Assess and order appropriate equipment to promote independence and quality of life.

Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Previous NHS community experience.
• Strong experience in community rehabilitation, ideally with stroke patients.
• Excellent communication and MDT working skills.
• Hours: 37.5 hours per week
• Working pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am5pm
• Location: Essex
