A regional council in Scotland is seeking a full-time Community Occupational Therapist to join their Occupational Therapy Service. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, conduct assessments, and support clients in achieving their goals. Strong communication skills and a degree in Occupational Therapy are required. The role promotes professional development and teamwork.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Occupational Therapy Service for a full-time permanent Community Occupational Therapist (36 hours). The service has recently undergone a change to initiate a ‘Locality’ model in partnership with Health. The successful candidate will work as part of a team of Occupational Therapists as well as within a Multidisciplinary model and supported by two team managers and the Group Manager.
West Lothian Council is a vibrant and forward-thinking council promoting team working, encouraging continuing professional development (CPD), peer support and regular supervision. The service offers a rotational program which covers three areas of: Housing; Independent Mobility assessment (IMA’s) and first point of contact (Duty), as well as contributing to the success of ‘All about me Assessments’. These assessments support minor as well as major adaptation, equipment provision, specialist seating and manual handling.
Within the heart of the Lothian area there are close links to Edinburgh and Glasgow, which provide easy access to live events such as concerts and sport. Edinburgh airport is a very short distance away promoting ease of access to the rest of Europe. Alternatively, there is ease of access to the rest of the Scotland including the Highlands & Islands.
This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
