Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a Community Nursing Assistant to join the Children’s Community Nursing Team based at Ayrshire Central Hospital, Irvine. This permanent post is 24 hours across 3 days (Monday to Friday) with shifts 08:00–22:00.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, family-centred care for infants, children and young people across hospital, school, and community settings in Ayrshire & Arran, developing your skills and experience in diverse clinical needs.

Qualifications

• SVQ level 3 or equivalent experience.
• Knowledge of the effect on children’s health and wellbeing when they have long term conditions.
• Experience of working with children and families in the hospital and community settings.
• Experience of working with children who have complex medical needs.
• Good communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work on own initiative and unsupervised.
• Ability to work as part of a team including as part of a multi disciplinary team.
• Effective listening and interpersonal skills.
• Time management skills.

Position

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Community Nursing Assistant within our Children’s Community Nursing Team b based at Ayrshire Central Hospital Irvine. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

Hours

24 hours over 3 days Monday Friday between the hours of 0800-2200. This post is offered on a permanent basis.

UK Driving Licence

A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
