Job description

This is a band 5 development post, within the North Cumbria Crisis Team. The successful candidate would be expected to complete a program of learning and development through the first 6-12 months, and once competencies are completed and there is evidence of sustained competency the post is converted to a band 6 position.

On completion of the development program, this is a full-time position with clinical facing shift patterns across a 7-day provision 365 days a year. It is essential that the successful candidate is able to work flexible shift patterns that include nights, weekends, and bank holidays.

The Universal Crisis Team for North Cumbria are in a position to recruit and are therefore looking to recruit motivated and committed individuals. The North Cumbria Crisis Team offers a dynamic and exciting work environment that can be both challenging and rewarding. You would be working within a multi-disciplinary team that are motivated in delivering high quality care for patients at home, with an aim to provide an alternative to hospital admission.

Responsibilities

The post holder will be part of a team working under the crisis model and pathway, offering a 24/7 service as an alternative to hospital admission. The successful candidate must have experience of working with individuals with a variety of mental health needs, and ideally have a track record of clinical experience in working with risk and complexity.

You will be supported to develop sound clinical skills in all aspects of triage, assessment, formulation, management of risk and therapeutic interventions. The successful candidate will be expected to develop skills in all complete all aspects of Crisis work, with a view to be working independently within a year. This will include the triaging of referrals, completion of holistic and comprehensive assessments and the treatment of patients who are in mental health crisis within their home environment.
