Job description

Community Nurse (Thurrock) - Band 5

This is a District Nursing role, not Mental Health.

We are welcoming applications from Registered Adult Nurses or students approaching the end of their training for our Band 5 Community Nurse vacancy in Thurrock.

Join our Community Nursing Team in Thurrock, Essex, a location that offers a mix of rural and urban environments. Enjoy nearby seaside locations, country parks, and easy access to London for entertainment, restaurants, and cultural venues. Shopping amenities at Lakeside and Bluewater are also nearby.

Essex offers lower property costs compared to London, making it an attractive place to relocate.

You will work with a diverse community, developing knowledge and skills around different cultural perspectives while delivering nursing care in patients' homes and residential care homes. Our patients are over 18 years old with primarily physical nursing needs. (Note: This position is not within a Community Mental Health team.)

Starting with NELFT

We prioritize proper induction and welcome new starters on the first Monday of each month. The comprehensive induction lasts up to two weeks and includes mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. You will also have opportunities to meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend engagement, health, and wellbeing sessions at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period

This role is subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt unless they are already in a probationary period or are bank staff.

High Cost Area Supplement – Fringe

This position attracts a 5% High Cost Area Supplement of the basic salary, with a minimum of £1,303 and a maximum of £2,198 per annum (pro rata).
