This position offers an opportunity to join a community midwifery team at East Kent Hospitals to provide comprehensive care during maternity leave coverage. We are currently seeking a community midwife to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract to end in September 2026, based in our Folkestone team.
You will need to be an active team member providing the full range of midwifery care, including on-calls for homebirth service
To enhance your midwifery role by developing excellent leadership and managerial skills to ensure a dynamic and innovative approach to team building / performance.
You may be required to change your area on a temporary basis to maintain service provision and develop your practice as required. As we move forward with our Continuity of Carer teams you will be expected to join a continuity team to achieve the Trust ambition of implementing Better Births
You will be required to develop your competencies set out in the practice portfolio relating to the knowledge and skills framework for Band 6.
Due to the varied settings andrequirements of this position it may be an essential requirement that the successful candidate must possess a full driver’s license and/or have access to a vehicle that can be used for work purposes, subject to the provisions of the Equalities Act (2010).
