One of the well-known trusts in the West Midlands is looking for an experienced, dynamic rotational midwife to provide women-centered care in various settings, helping them achieve their desired birthing experience. The role involves working collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team and management to deliver high-standard, safe, women-centered care.

Description:

This is a rotational post where the midwife will work in all areas within the Maternity Services, providing antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care. The role includes participating in future service developments and continuing professional development.

  • Provide a high standard of midwifery care to mother and baby, offering support to the family unit.
  • Regularly take charge of the Ward/Department in the absence of the person with continuing responsibility.
  • Participate in the IPR process, supervise, mentor, and provide preceptorship for junior staff.
  • Teach, lead, and manage qualified and other staff, including students and student midwives.
  • Rotate between clinical areas to cover service needs and demands during times of escalation.

Skills & Experience:

  • Valid NMC registration as a Midwife with community experience.
  • Basic skills in IV cannulation, suturing, scrubbing in theatre, epidural top-ups, and newborn resuscitation.
  • Ability to evaluate midwifery care.
  • Knowledge of NMC Midwives Rules, Code of Practice, Scope of Professional Practice, and Standards for the Administration of Medicines.
  • Ability to adapt to new working practices and remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to deal calmly and courteously with difficult individuals.
  • Adaptable and flexible approach to working within the Unit, including flexible working hours and cross-site shift patterns.
  • Knowledge of Clinical Governance.
