The postholder will provide holistic midwifery care to service users across the antenatal, intrapartum, and postpartum period within the Bicester Area and surrounding areas of Oxfordshire. A driving license with appropriate insurance is essential, as care is provided in the form of clinic appointments and home visits. The team also provides an on-call service, facilitating community births across the county and supporting the Obstetric Unit at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
We are looking for a midwife who demonstrates kindness, compassion, and a passion for providing gold-standard care. The ideal candidate will be a team player, adding to the nurturing atmosphere of our supportive team of midwives and support workers in Banbury.
Full and part-time hours are available. Candidates must be car drivers with access to a car during the day and for night on-calls. Community on-call shifts will be required during the day and night.
Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust offers a unique setup of Maternity Services, with around 7500 babies born annually. We have four stand-alone Midwifery-Led Birth units within the county and offer home births to all areas. As a tertiary hospital, the John Radcliffe is composed of a Delivery Suite with three Maternity Theatres and a specific Maternity Recovery Ward.
We work closely with specialist services, including the Fetal and Maternal Medicine Unit, Breech Team, and Maternity Bereavement Teams. Midwives employed within the service have the opportunity to rotate to all our units/departments, providing care to both low- and high-risk women.
