Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Nurses, Social Workers, and Allied Health Professionals to join the community CAMHS Service as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a supportive and welcoming environment.

Main duties of the job

To participate in holistic mental health assessments of children and young people referred to the team, making professional assessments and early identification of mental health issues. To promote emotional and mental health needs, organize and interpret complex information, and provide informed judgments on care options. To facilitate early intervention in line with the CAMHS Service model and iTHRIVE framework. To implement multi-agency working relationships that ensure integrated care. To collaborate with other professionals and agencies within the locality to develop evidence-based strategies and interventions, and undertake case management and provide evidence-based interventions for those with mental health and neurodevelopmental concerns.

Person Specification
Qualifications/Registrations
  • Registered Health or Social Care Professional (Nurses, Social Workers, Allied Health Professionals)
  • Training in therapeutic interventions
  • Experience working therapeutically with children and young people, especially with complex and traumatic early life experiences
  • Recognized therapeutic qualification and accreditation (e.g., Systemic Therapy, CBT, PBS, Behavioural Therapy)
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, for complex and sensitive information sharing
Skills/Abilities
  • Risk assessment and management skills related to mental health and risky behaviors
  • High standards in written communication, including reports and correspondence
  • Ability to identify safeguarding risks for children and young persons
  • Effective caseload and time management skills
Experience/Knowledge
  • Post-registration experience with successful completion of preceptorship or equivalent
  • Experience in routine outcome monitoring and multi-agency support for young people
  • Ability to work under pressure, managing distressing circumstances effectively
  • Experience working therapeutically with children and young people with complex backgrounds
