Responsibilities:

  1. Working autonomously within the role's parameters, leading and supporting junior staff and the wider care team to deliver quality nursing care, including physical, psychological, social, recreational, and spiritual support through therapeutic engagement and activities.
  2. Ensuring fundamental care needs are met, such as nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, and emotional support.
  3. Coordinating and evaluating patient-centered care, gathering feedback, and improving care plans with the multidisciplinary team (MDT).
  4. Providing accessible information about care to patients and their families or carers.
  5. Liaising with and working positively alongside multidisciplinary team members and partner organizations.
  6. Administering medications, monitoring side effects, and ensuring safe custody of medicines and clinical equipment.
  7. Leading and supporting staff on risk assessment and management, making decisions based on evidence, individual social context, and clinical judgment.
  8. Supporting staff development through data collection, monitoring progress, and providing feedback.
