Are you a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) who is passionate about improving outcomes for people with long term mental illness?

The Oxford City and North East AMHT are looking to recruit an experienced RMN to take a lead on running the Depot Clinic based at Warneford Hospital, Headington. We serve Oxford, Kidlington, Bicester, Woodstock, and surrounding villages.

You will manage the depot clinic daily, conduct home visits, and lead service improvements. This role offers opportunities for senior clinical and leadership development, supported by a dedicated management team focused on staff wellbeing and professional growth.

You will be supported by an experienced leadership team and encouraged to undertake relevant training. Regular supervision will be provided.

Main duties of the job

This role is suitable for Registered Mental Health Nurses experienced in Adult Mental Health services, familiar with community care challenges.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing high-quality, meaningful patient care; managing your workload effectively.
  • Acting as an independent practitioner in a community setting, liaising with other professionals, managing the depot clinic, and supervising staff and trainees.
  • Evaluating nursing care and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Engaging in practice development, supervision, and reflective forums.

Person specification

Education and Training

  • Professional qualification (degree or equivalent) and current registration.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Postgraduate qualifications in care or management are desirable.

Occupational Experience

  • Experience in community mental health care for adults.
  • Experience working within multidisciplinary teams and understanding of AMHTs.
  • Knowledge of risk management, clinical governance, and legal responsibilities.
  • Experience supervising staff.

Skills required - IT / Admin

  • IT literacy, including Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to travel between sites.
