Job overview

The Havering Mental Health & Wellness Team (MH&WT) North is looking to recruit a Community Mental Health Nurse for a full-time vacancy. The post holder will be working within a dynamic and friendly multi-disciplinary team. Applicants will have substantial experience working within a mental health setting and will possess excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as evidence-based knowledge of working in the Recovery Model.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of professionals in the newly formed Mental Wellness teams. All successful candidates will have the opportunity to participate in projects that support the team and to apply for training and development initiatives.

Main duties of the job

You will be working as part of our multi-disciplinary team and will coordinate a caseload of service users with complex and challenging needs. As a nurse, you will have the opportunity to work within the wellness clinic to deliver physical and mental health interventions.

We require good IT skills and knowledge of using electronic recording systems. It is essential that you are willing to work flexibly within the demands of the service.

You will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team and other agencies to deliver recovery-focused health and social care interventions, including managing risk and safeguarding vulnerable adults.

The successful candidate will be expected to provide managerial supervision to junior colleagues, mentor MDT students, and participate in ongoing educational and research programs.

Probationary Period

This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period unless they are currently part way through a probation or are a bank staff member.

Starting with NELFT

NELFT places great importance on properly welcoming and inducting new starters. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and undergo a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks, including mandatory training, systems training, and equipment allocation. During induction, new starters will meet the executive team, senior managers, and attend drop-in sessions focusing on engagement, health, wellbeing, and key processes. Induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

High Cost Area Supplement - Outer London

This post attracts a payment of 15% of the basic salary as a High Cost Area Supplement (minimum £4,551 and maximum £5,735 pro-rata for part-time).
