Job Description:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled nurse to join our Older Adult Community Mental Health Team within NHS Fife, West Fife locality. You will be based at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline. We welcome interest from people that are highly motivated, proactive with strong communication skills and have experience of working in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will be required to confidently carry out initial mental health assessments, provide low intensity psychological therapies, formulate person-centred care plans, and evaluate care and treatment for older people referred to our service. You should be able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will manage your own caseload and provide teaching, supervision, and assessment for student nurses. As a charge nurse, you will assist with supervising and developing junior staff and support the band 7 team leader. You will deputise for the band 7 team leader during their absence. The ideal candidate will be a 1st Level Mental Health Nurse, preferably with older adult community mental health experience, and able to travel across NHS Fife. The working pattern is within office hours Monday – Friday, with one weekend every 8 weeks to support service delivery.
