Job summary

Property Management Recruitment Ltd in Ashford, Kent, is seeking a Community Manager to take full ownership of a residential building. You’ll be the on-site face, manage residents, occupancy, and day-to-day operations with support from an on-site facilities manager and an external leasing partner.

This role is Monday to Friday, daytime hours, offering autonomy and a clear pathway to influence how the community feels to live in, with backing from a major rental housing operator.

Qualifications

• Experience managing a residential property, build to rent, student accommodation or hospitality operation.
• Confidence working independently as the lead on site.
• Commercial awareness, including budgets, occupancy and revenue.
• A genuine focus on customer or resident service.

Responsibilities

• Building a welcoming community and handling resident queries, requests and complaints.
• Managing the site budget, forecasting and P&L, and reporting performance to stakeholders.
• Working with the leasing partner and marketing team to hit occupancy and revenue targets.
• Overseeing tenancy management, including inspections, arrears and charges.
• Partnering with the facilities manager on planned and reactive maintenance.
• Keeping the building safe, compliant and well presented through regular walkarounds.

The role

As Community Manager, you'll be the face of the building and the only member of staff on site. That means you own the day to day: residents, performance and how the place feels to live in. You'll work alongside an on-site facilities manager who looks after maintenance and an external leasing partner who handles lettings, with support from a regional operations manager. It's Monday to Friday, daytime hours.

What you'll be doing
