Job summary

Places for People in Preston is seeking a Maintenance Technician to carry out general repairs across our housing stock, including occupied and void properties. You’ll work to health and safety standards and support installation tasks for kitchens, bathrooms, and boilers.

The role offers a company van, 35 days leave, overtime opportunities, a pension with matched contributions, and secure, permanent employment. Core hours are 08:00–16:30, Mon–Fri.

Qualifications

• Experience performing repairs in social housing.
• Ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines.
• Full UK manual driving licence.
• Based within the advertised postcode area.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general repairs in properties and communal areas.
• Complete work in occupied and void properties, including cleaning and maintenance.
• Assist with installation work such as kitchens, bathrooms, and boilers.
• Adhere to health and safety requirements and site specifications.
• Collaborate with supervisors and teams to meet deadlines.
• Record work activity and maintain accurate documentation.
