Overview

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in clinical and non-clinical roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, expanding to 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Learning Disability Health Check Team for a Band 5 Staff Nurse to support the implementation of Learning Disability Health Checks. The Learning Disability Health Check Team is a Nurse-Led service implementing The Annual Health Checks For People With Learning Disabilities (Scotland) Directions 2022.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake health checks within the board area in clinic, community environments and in individuals’ homes.
  • Determine appropriate recommendations and referrals based on assessment and up-to-date evidence-based practice.
  • Collaborate with wider primary care and learning disability services to reduce barriers to accessing health services for people with learning disabilities.

Shift Pattern: Monday-Thursday 08:30-16:30, Friday 08:30-16:00.
