Overview

Role details

The shift pattern for this post is Mon – Fri 9 - 5. Hours: 37 hours. An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen within Glasgow City HSCP Learning Disability Services for a Band 6 Community Nurse who is skilled and motivated to work within a Multi-Disciplinary Team to improve the health of people with Learning Disabilities.

Responsibilities
  • Be clinically experienced and able to manage clinical issues and staff governance on a daily basis.
  • Support the operational demands of the service, monitor and respond to clinical governance issues, and motivate and develop staff through excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Carry an appropriate caseload, providing expert assessment, diagnosis, evidence-based treatments and management for people with learning disabilities.
  • Offer advice and expert opinion to parents, family members, carers, care providers, local authorities and other health care professionals.
  • Support the Nurse Team Leader to deliver safe and effective care that enhances the patient experience and contributes to the delivery of Local and National Policies.
Qualifications / requirements
  • Relevant post-registration experience.
  • Commitment to patient-centred care and the support of people with learning disabilities.
  • Ability to manage clinical issues and staff governance, monitor clinical governance, and motivate and develop staff.
  • Ability to support the operational demands of the service and provide expert advice to multidisciplinary teams.
