Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a Community Development and Inclusion Officer to join the Well Northants Team. The role covers Rural South and East Neighbourhood of West Northants, working with residents and groups to promote health, wellbeing and inclusive community initiatives.

You will engage with diverse communities, build partnerships, and support projects that empower people to participate in local decision-making and action.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with person-centred approaches, placing individuals, families and communities at the heart of decision-making and support.
• Strong understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, with awareness of the needs of different individuals and communities.
• Good understanding of NHS and local authority policies, statutory duties and responsibilities, and how organisations work together to support communities and improve outcomes.
• Confident working collaboratively with partners, community groups and stakeholders to deliver initiatives that promote health, wellbeing, inclusion and community resilience across West Northamptonshire.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a strong understanding of community strengths, assets, networks and opportunities across West Northamptonshire.
• Work collaboratively with residents, community groups and partner organisations to create innovative solutions that build stronger, more resilient, welcoming and inclusive communities.
• Support individuals of all ages and backgrounds, particularly those who may be vulnerable, isolated or experiencing exclusion.
• Identify local challenges and opportunities and support communities to develop practical, sustainable solutions.
