This is a great job opportunity for a Community Housing Assistant to join Home Group's awesome housing team in 703. As our Community Housing Assistant (CHA), you're the face-to-face customer support to our communities. If you like variety, meeting and supporting customers, and want to develop a career in housing, then this is the perfect job for you!

Typical day as our Community Housing Assistant

  • Engage with customers and be visible on our estates to get to know our communities.
  • Support housing managers to look after their patches and help improve local neighborhoods.
  • Assist with tasks such as managing voids processes, liaising with local authorities, estate inspections, and engaging with contractors on site.
  • Conduct and record routine safety and compliance checks in our buildings and communities.
  • Manage administrative tasks, update records, and coordinate payments for works.

You bring

  • A positive, proactive attitude, well-organized, and able to work on your own initiative.
  • A passion for delivering excellent customer service and a genuine desire to help customers.
  • Confidence in collaborating with colleagues and external partners.
  • Knowledge of housing management, housing law, and universal credit is a plus but not essential.
  • Ability to use technology to navigate systems and update records.
  • Understanding that this role involves working alone on our estates.

Job details

  • This is a hybrid role, with 1-2 days per week in our communities in Watford and St Albans.
  • We meet regularly, including virtual weekly meetings and monthly in-office days at Bishops Stortford.
  • Flexible working hours may be available; discuss this at interview.
  • Work Monday to Friday, with occasional evenings to meet customers. You can shape your schedule.
  • A vehicle insured for business purposes is required; mileage will be reimbursed.
  • A Standard DBS check is required; we will pay for it.
