Job description

Role Overview:
The Talent Set is thrilled to be working with a leading UK healthcare charity who are seeking a dynamic and experienced Community Fundraiser to join their Public Fundraising and Engagement team on a temporary basis.

This short-term position is ideal for a high-performing individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a passion for community engagement and income generation. This role is critical in maintaining and growing community income streams, managing key supporter relationships, and contributing to the charity's ambitious fundraising goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and line manage a team of fundraising professionals, including performance reviews, one-to-ones, and personal development planning.
  2. Drive community fundraising activity by identifying, developing, and supporting new initiatives and opportunities.
  3. Represent the charity at local and networking events, giving presentations and talks to raise awareness and build relationships.
  4. Deliver high-quality stewardship to build long-term supporter engagement and maximise income potential.
  5. Proactively identify and cultivate new audiences and community prospects.
  6. Contribute to budgeting, monthly income reporting, and forecasting with the senior fundraising leadership.
  7. Monitor performance against agreed objectives and KPIs.
  8. Ensure all activities comply with relevant regulations, including Fundraising Regulator guidance and GDPR.
  9. Maintain accurate supporter records and ensure best practice use of the fundraising database (Raisers Edge NXT or equivalent).
  10. Collaborate cross-functionally with teams including Marketing, Communications, Major Gifts, Finance, and Data to optimise supporter experience.
  11. Attend fundraising events as required, which may occasionally involve evening or weekend work (TOIL provided).
  12. Process donations in accordance with internal financial procedures.
  13. Act as an ambassador for the team in internal and external meetings.
  14. Identify efficiencies and contribute to value for money in the delivery of community fundraising plans.
  15. Undertake other duties in line with the scope and level of the role as required.

Person Specification:

  1. Minimum of two years experience in a fundraising or income-generating role.
  2. Proven track record of securing and stewarding community fundraising income.
  3. Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a broad range of stakeholders.
  5. Confident, proactive, and solutions-oriented approach.
  6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  7. Comfortable handling sensitive situations with empathy and professionalism.
  8. Understanding of fundraising regulations and data protection compliance.
  9. Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting and income reporting.
  10. Previous line management experience.
  11. Experience using fundraising databases, particularly Raisers Edge NXT.
  12. Background in volunteer management or working with community groups.
  13. Awareness of healthcare or NHS environments and issues.

Whats on Offer:

  1. This is a hybrid role, with just 2 days per-week in their South London office.
  2. A day rate of £.06 per-day plus £20.17 daily holiday for the successful candidate.
