Job overview

We are delighted to be offering this Band 8a Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist post in Respiratory. We are looking for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic physiotherapist to join our expanding, forward thinking and dynamic team. This role will support complex respiratory patients in all our inpatient wards at Kingston Hospital, including ICU, Paediatrics, Surgery, Medicine and Care of the Elderly.

  • To be the Physiotherapy Clinical Lead for complex respiratory patients on the inpatient wards,including Intensive Care Unit and paediatrics.
  • To perform as an autonomous practitioner undertaking a specific clinical caseload in the expertassessment and treatment of patients who often have highly complex and/or chronicpresentations, using expert clinical reasoning skills in order to provide optimal physiotherapymanagement.
  • To be responsible for ensuring clinically effective physical rehabilitation is delivered as part ofthe critical care rehabilitation pathway
  • To identify areas for audit and research within areas of expertise to drive departmental objectivesand facilitate change.

  • Bsc/Msc Physiotherapy
  • HCPC Registration

Experience

  • Band 7 or above respiratory experience
  • Knowledge and experience with wide range of respiratory conditions
  • Expert knowledge & application of respiratory treatment options
  • Expert knowledge of tracheostomy management
  • Staff supervision and clinical development experience
  • Clinical governance experience
  • Experience with formal presentations to MDT
