Job Title: Community Events Support Officer

Salary: £13.68 PAYE (Inclusive of Holiday Pay) | £15.66 LTD Umbrella

Hours: 37 Hours Per Week

Type: Temporary Ongoing

Location: Bromsgrove/Redditch

Start Date: ASAP


Are you passionate about bringing communities together and enhancing public greenspaces? This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic local authority team dedicated to planning and delivering engaging community events while supporting the use and development of public greenspaces across Redditch and Bromsgrove.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assist in the research, development, and creative planning of events such as the Green Fair, Summer Fun, and Light Trail.
  2. Engage external organisations, partners, and third-party agencies for event collaboration.
  3. Identify event resource requirements and manage quotes, proposals, and invoices.
  4. Liaise with internal and external departments for smooth event coordination.
  5. Maintain the ‘Live Project Tracker’, managing work plans, budgets, and supplier contacts.
  6. Support on-site event delivery to ensure timely and budget-conscious execution.
  7. Assist with documentation including risk assessments, management plans, and site layouts.
  8. Contribute to event marketing and promotion, logistics, and production.
  9. Collaborate with local businesses and partners to enhance greenspace offerings.
  10. Help manage event site setups and breakdowns.
  11. Enable and encourage community engagement at all stages of event planning and delivery.
  12. Perform additional duties as directed by the Greenspaces & Community Events Officer.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Experience in event planning, logistics, or community engagement.
  2. Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  3. Strong interpersonal and stakeholder coordination skills.
  4. Proficiency in project tracking and documentation.
  5. A proactive, energetic, and flexible approach to tasks.
  6. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  7. Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle required.
  8. Basic DBS will be required for the successful applicant.
