Do you want to make a difference?

The RAF Benevolent Fund is the leading welfare charity for the RAF. Every year, we make a real difference to over 40,000 people through our services. Working at the Fund means more than desk work; it offers the opportunity to be part of our RAF Family. You will help beneficiaries and engage in events like Royal Ascot, the Chelsea Flower Show, and the Bomber Command Memorial Service, among others. Every day, you will have the chance to make a meaningful impact on people's lives.

It doesn't matter how long someone served or when; if they were part of the RAF, they and their families are part of our RAF Family. We are committed to supporting them during their toughest times.

Join the RAF Family and contribute to making a difference.

Are you ready to play a part in our mission?

People are at the core of what we do. Together, we:

  • Help reduce social isolation and loneliness among veterans.
  • Support ill or injured personnel to secure a safe and suitable home.
  • Fund youth services on stations, providing clubs and activities for children of serving personnel who frequently relocate.
  • Offer grants to assist with living costs.

We are seeking an individual to raise awareness of our welfare services among social welfare agencies across South and Central Scotland. The role also involves working with socially isolated individuals to identify enriching opportunities, develop support plans, and coordinate assistance from within the RAF Benevolent Fund and other sector organizations.

The ideal candidate will have experience in social welfare support, strong relationship-building skills, and empathy or understanding of the Armed Forces community. Experience in social prescribing or veteran support is encouraged.

This community-based role is home-based, covering South and Central Scotland, with both remote and face-to-face support. The candidate must own a vehicle for regional travel, with occasional travel to Edinburgh and London. An Enhanced DBS check and proof of right to work in the UK are required.
