An exciting opportunity to be part of the Greater Manchester Liaison and Diversion Team as a Community Engagement Worker.
The role of Community Engagement Worker has been developed specifically for individuals with lived experience of vulnerabilities such as mental health issues, substance misuse, learning difficulties, neurodiversity, homelessness, or involvement with the Criminal Justice System. The aim is to support others who may benefit from community support and access to various treatments and interventions.
The Community Engagement Worker will act as an advocate, collaborate with clients to set goals, and support access to relevant services. They will provide emotional and practical support, inspiring hope and confidence that living well is achievable, based on their own experiences and skills.

Person specification
Education: GCSE Maths and English (Grades C-E or Level 1 minimum)
IT Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, Outlook, Word
Lived Experience: Relevant personal experience of vulnerabilities such as mental health, substance misuse, homelessness, involvement with the Criminal Justice System, or neurodiversity
Support Work Experience: Volunteering or paid experience in support roles
Additional Experience: Experience with the Criminal Justice System or working with support services like ASC, Probation, or drug and alcohol services
Skills: Effective communication skills, including active listening, rapport building, and motivational interviewing.
