Job summary

Buckinghamshire Council is seeking a permanent full-time Community Engagement Officer & User Experience Officer to support the Quality, Standards & Practice team. The role works across a Learning Disability programme to coordinate engagement, coproduction and feedback-driven service improvements for Adult Social Care.

You will build partnerships, run inclusive forums, manage accessible communications, and ensure lived experience informs service development and decision-making.

We are also looking for a permanent full-time Community Engagement Officer & User Experience Officer to join our outstanding Quality, Standards & Practice team., For the fixed-term role until 31^st March: Working across a new Learning Disability programme of work, you'll coordinate engagement and coproduction activities, ensuring resident lived experience shapes service development and improvement. You'll build partnerships, facilitate inclusive participation, and demonstrate how feedback drives meaningful change.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Lead engagement and coproduction activities, building relationships with people with lived experience, families, carers, community groups, providers and partners, while facilitating inclusive workshops and events.
• Gather and analyse feedback, monitor impact, support governance and decision-making processes, and help evidence service improvements through person-centred, coproduced approaches.

For the Permanent role: You will play a key role in strengthening coproduction and ensuring that the voices of people with lived experience are at the heart of Adult Social Care. You will build and maintain relationships with our online and in-person forum communities, local resident groups, faith organisations, and other community networks, creating opportunities for residents to share their lived experiences and perspectives. Through regular engagement and coproduction activities, you will gather valuable feedback to help shape service delivery, influence decision making, and drive continuous improvement across Adult Social Care.

What You’ll be Doing

• Promote a culture of co-production, ensuring lived experience feedback from residents, carers, and families influences service design and improvement
• Develop, strengthen and manage accessible information, advice and guidance
• Deliver inclusive engagement activities, coproduction forums, and community outreach initiatives.
• Manage and develop website content to ensure it is accessible, accurate, engaging, and user-focused.
  You will be passionate about coproduction, community engagement, and ensuring the voices of people with lived experience shape service delivery and improvement. Successful candidates will have strong communication and relationship-building skills, experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, and the ability to develop accessible communications, analyse feedback and insights, and use engagement activity to drive positive outcomes for residents, service users, and communities.

Key Requirements

• Engagement and coproduction expertise with experience working alongside residents, service users, carers, community representatives, and partner organisations to influence service development and improvement.
• Excellent communication and digital skills, including creating engaging content, reports, presentations, accessible materials, website and social media management, and delivering forums or engagement programmes.
• Strong organisational and analytical abilities, with experience gathering and interpreting feedback, using data and analytics to inform decisions, managing competing priorities, and promoting equality, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility in all aspects of engagement.
