We help people to connect withwhat is meaningful to them and provide therapeutic, trauma-informed support. We workclosely withthe communityto improve access to mental healthservices, develop local resources, and address health inequalities.A day in the role looks like...As a CommunityEngagement Practitioneryou willplay a crucial role in providing Service Users (SU) with non-clinicalsupportas a part of a multidisciplinary team(MDT). Your contributions willdirectly influence the mental health recoveryand improvement of quality of life of SU's, guiding them towards a path ofempowermentand independence.One day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to be responsible for are:
- Providing high quality support as a Keyperson to adult SU's withmoderate to severe mental health difficulties within the CMHT
- Working collaborativelyalongside other CMHT's professionalsand SU's to produce a recoveryplan and leadon co-produced formulationof community/social needs
- Assessment and managementof client care needs through Dialog +, crisis plans, and monitoring of SU's progress and reports in carereviews withthe MDT team
- Outreach workwithinthe local community, networking withgrassroots and statutoryservices and connectingclients to local resources
- SupportingSU's in discharge planning from CMHT and building sustainablenetworks in the community
- Facilitateand co-deliver psychoeducationand other wellbeing activities/peer groups where possible
This role is Monday to Friday, 9-5pm.

Essential:
- Understanding of the issues and concerns of mental health service users
- Understandingand practical knowledge of recovery, and coproduction
- Experience of working autonomously, and in a teamor a group environment
- Experience of liaising withother agencies and partners
- Awareness of treatment outcomes, recoverytools, careplanning, assessment of risk
- Awareness and understandingof the functions of MDT
- Knowledge and understandingof the Mental HealthAct 1983 amended 2007
- Previous experience in similar roles such as SupportWorker, Mental HealthWorker or Keyworker would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Group facilitation skills
- Ability to assess clinical situations quickly and use initiative
- Able to work on own initiative and as part of a team
- Ability to remain calm in emergent situations and respond in a professional manner
- Ability to maintain boundaries and form a positive therapeutic relationship with service users and carers
- Good IT skills (MS Office, Electronic Case Management System experience)
- Ability to manage stress and work under pressure
- Ability to work to ensure effective communication both within and outside the services Ability to adapt to changing environments, needs and demands
- Act as a positive role model, dynamic, motivated caring and supportive
- Ability to work closely and form good working relationships with a wide range of people
Desirable:
- Experience of training, teaching, coaching/mentoring others
- Appreciation of the community resources within the geographical location of the post and key partners
- Lived experience of mental health problems and experience of using secondary care services and Psychiatric hospital admission
- Report writing skills
- Presentation skills
- Able to speak and understand more than one language
