Job description

Help us reach more men

A campaign someone shares. A video that makes someone stop scrolling. A conversation at an event that helps a man feel able to walk through our doors.

Our marketing, campaigns and events all have a purpose: to reach more men, build our community and help people understand that it's okay to talk.

We're looking for two skilled, creative people who can bring ideas and make them happen. People who can show us work they've delivered, explain their contribution and help us build on it at ANDYSMANCLUB.

The role

Working with Emma and the wider team, you'll develop and deliver activity that grows our reach and strengthens people's connection to AMC.

Your work will span social media, marketing campaigns, local pop-up events and larger national events. You'll help improve established activities and participant experience at the Great North Run and London Marathon, while bringing fresh ideas for reaching people we're currently missing.

Both appointments will need proven marketing and social media experience.

We'll look for complementary strengths across campaigns, content and event delivery, with clear responsibilities agreed for each person.

What you'll do
Create marketing and campaigns that connect
  • Turn agreed ideas into practical campaign plans with clear audiences, messages, deadlines and measures of success.
  • Create engaging copy, graphics, photographs and short videos for social media and other marketing channels.
  • Plan, schedule and publish content, adapting it to the audience and platform.
  • Help manage online engagement, responding appropriately and passing sensitive concerns to the right colleague.
  • Keep AMC's voice recognisable, human and consistent.
Bring our community together
  • Plan, promote and help deliver local pop-up activities and larger national events.
  • Coordinate venues, suppliers, materials, volunteers and participant communications for agreed projects.
  • Help people feel welcomed and looked after before, during and after an event.
  • Capture content and stories with appropriate consent, so the reach of an event continues beyond the day itself.
  • Work within agreed budgets, event plans and safeguarding arrangements.
Bring ideas and follow them through
  • Suggest new campaigns, content formats, community activities and merchandise concepts.
  • Be confident putting ideas forward, explaining their purpose and testing them on a manageable scale.
  • Take ownership of agreed projects, solve practical problems and keep colleagues updated.
  • Work with staff, volunteers and partners to turn opportunities into activity we can deliver.
  • Review results and feedback, then use what you learn to improve the next project.
What you need to bring
Essential
  • Demonstrable experience delivering marketing activity and managing social media for an organisation, brand, campaign or community.
  • Examples of projects you have worked on, showing your personal contribution and the results or learning.
  • Strong writing skills and the ability to create content that connects with different audiences.
  • Practical experience with content creation, design, scheduling and analytics tools, such as Canva or equivalent platforms.
  • The ability to create and edit usable visual content, including short videos.
  • Experience taking a campaign, event or marketing project from an initial brief through to delivery and review.
  • Good organisation, attention to detail and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • Confidence to be creative, use initiative and take responsibility, alongside openness to feedback.
  • The ability to build relationships and represent AMC warmly and professionally.
  • Sound judgement around consent, confidentiality and sensitive stories.
  • A genuine commitment to AMC's purpose.
Useful additional experience
  • Delivering community, fundraising or national events.
  • Paid social advertising, email marketing or website content.
  • Working with volunteers, suppliers or external creative teams.
  • Podcast production, photography or more advanced video editing.
  • Charity or community engagement work.

You don't need to be a specialist in every area. You do need proven skills you can contribute from the start and a willingness to keep developing.

What success looks like

Your work helps more men discover and understand AMC. Campaigns reach the intended audiences and encourage meaningful action. Events feel welcoming and run well. Projects are delivered on time and within agreed budgets.

You can explain what worked, what didn't and what you would change. We'll look at relevant reach, visits to group information, participation, community feedback and continued engagement alongside social media performance.

Show us what you've done

Alongside your CV and a short explanation of why you want to join AMC, please provide two or three examples of relevant work.

We request a short video is sent in, in addition to the CV and covering letter answering the below questions.

For each example, tell us:

  • What you were trying to achieve and who you wanted to reach.
  • What you personally contributed.
  • What you delivered.
  • What happened and what you learned.

Examples can include campaigns, social accounts, content, events or other relevant projects. Links, screenshots or a short portfolio are welcome. Please only share material you have permission to share; anonymised examples are fine.
