A regional healthcare organization is looking for a Community Engagement Communications Officer to enhance community interaction and communication strategies. This part-time role includes delivering a communications plan, engaging diverse communities, and managing content across various channels. Ideal candidates are motivated communicators with relevant experience in community engagement.
Job summary
Open only to applicants from Hampshire & Isle of Wight NHS system, which is limited to; Hampshire IOW Healthcare NHS Trust, Hampshire and Isle of Wight ICB, Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust, Isle of Wight NHS Trust, University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust, South Central Ambulance Service or Hampshire Hospitals Foundation Trust.
This is a 18.5 hour per week post Maternity Leave Cover.
Are you passionate about working with people from diverse groups and communities in different ways? We are looking for a Community Engagement Communications Officer to join us.
A primary function of the community engagement team is to maintain consistent communication with a diverse array of community partners, organisations, and service users. This necessitates the creation and management of various media products tailored to the needs of our communities.
You will have drive and work in a innovative way to reach different groups and communities. To achieve this, it is essential to have a communications officer within the team who possesses a comprehensive understanding of the preferred communication methods of our diverse communities. This role also involves active engagement within the communities themselves.
Oakley Road, Southampton will be the location base but the role will involve home working and travelling to different communities across our patch.
Secondment opportunities will also be considered.
Main duties of the jobYou will support the delivery of the team's ambitions to engagement and inclusion. How you will do this is outlined below:
The post holder will assist in the creation, and the delivery of, the Community Engagement and patient experience Communications Plan using a range of communication channels to encourage two-way dialogue including production of a regular newsletter.
The post holder will be expected to build relationships with local communities and identify inspiring and appropriate approaches for communicating with our communities.
The post Holder will support the management of our Community Partner database.
The post holder will bring a diversity and inclusion and community engagement perspective to the communications team.
Ability to work closely with different teams and to ensure that communications developed are aligned with the teams principles.
The post holder will support the team in developing communications including creating content such as posters, editing and proofreading.
The post holder will work with the project leads to deliver different projects.
The role will involve some evening and weekend work.
