Dumfries and Galloway Council is recruiting a Community Learning and Development Worker to support communities across the region from Stranraer to Newton Stewart. The role focuses on identifying local needs, building capacity, and enabling community-led change in partnership with local organisations.

You will join an award-winning team and contribute to delivering the Council's participation and volunteering strategies, with a strong emphasis on equality, inclusion, and wellbeing across Dumfries

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with individuals or groups using a community development approach.
• Knowledge of the Third Sector and CLD Standards Council membership is advantageous.
• Motivated and passionate about working with communities; experience supporting part-time staff and/or volunteers.

Responsabilités

• Support communities of place and interest to identify local needs and develop solutions.
• Build the capacity of community organisations and Community Councils.
• Support ownership and management of community assets by organisations.
• Assist groups addressing poverty and inequality and delivery of local strategies.
• Facilitate community engagement and participation activities.
