Job summary

Essential Employment in Carmarthen is seeking a Community Employment Mentor on a temporary basis. You will provide intensive, person-centred mentoring to individuals who are unemployed or in-work poverty, helping them overcome barriers and progress toward sustainable employment.

You will manage a varied caseload, develop action plans, carry out assessments, and work with local services to access training and support.

• Travel across Carmarthenshire and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet community needs.

The successful candidate will provide intensive, person‑centred mentoring to individuals who are unemployed or experiencing in‑work poverty, helping them overcome barriers and progress towards suitable, sustainable employment. They will manage a varied caseload, develop comprehensive action plans, and carry out ongoing assessments and reviews to ensure each client receives tailored support.

They will work collaboratively with a wide range of local services to deliver a holistic approach, enabling access to training, education, development opportunities and employment. The successful candidate will champion equality, diversity, wellbeing and sustainability in all aspects of their work, maintain accurate records and client files, and build strong relationships with partners. They will also be able to travel across Carmarthenshire and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the community.
