Job summary

The Growth Company’s Employment team is seeking an Employment Specialist to deliver a community-based employability and health programme across Staffordshire. You’ll support people with health conditions or barriers to employment to achieve sustainable work, travelling as needed within the South East Staffordshire area.

You’ll manage a caseload, provide CV writing, job search help, interview preparation, and career planning, and complete Vocational Profiles and Action Plans to tailor support.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience supporting individuals with health conditions or disabilities.
• Ability to work in a target-driven environment to achieve job outcomes.
• Strong guidance and coaching abilities for one-to-one and group sessions.
• Good understanding of local labour markets and employment support services.
• Background in advice, guidance, or counselling settings.
• Awareness of barriers to employment and strategies to overcome them.
• Safeguarding and information governance familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of around 24 clients and support their journey into sustainable employment.
• Deliver tailored support including CV writing, job searching, interview prep, and career planning.
• Complete Vocational Profiles and Action Plans to identify strengths and goals.
• Collaborate with clinical teams to generate referrals and promote employment as a health intervention.
• Provide ongoing in-work support to clients and employers to sustain employment outcomes.
• Identify opportunities through tailored searches and employer engagement.
• Offer guidance on benefits, health disclosures, and workplace adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records using internal systems and documentation protocols.
