Job summary

The Big Life Group is seeking a Community Development Worker in Salford to bring people together and create opportunities for health and wellbeing. Based at the Energise Centre, you will work with local people, volunteers and partner organisations to turn needs into actionable activities.

You will develop plans, build relationships and encourage participation, including volunteering, while ensuring services reflect local priorities and are accessible to diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Experience working or volunteering in a community setting.
• Facilitating groups and developing community participation and action.
• Overcoming resistance when working with communities and organisations.
• Participating in external meetings and contributing effectively.
• Teamwork and sharing information with colleagues.
• Building relationships with communities and agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop and support health and wellbeing initiatives that encourage community involvement.
• Contribute to the design, delivery and improvement of services to reflect local needs.
• Build and maintain effective relationships with community groups, partner organisations and stakeholders.
• Gather and analyse information about community needs using engagement approaches.
• Plan, organise and facilitate community groups, meetings, workshops and training sessions.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of community services using feedback and data.
• Develop and distribute clear information and promotional materials for local communities.
• Encourage and support residents to become actively involved, including volunteering.
• Recruit, train and support volunteers, ensuring a positive experience.
• Promote inclusive participation across diverse backgrounds.
